Feeling Sheepish
Although their visit was short, in the toddler room (Akonga) we recognise that through these experiences tamariki are given the chance to make links to their home life as many of our tamariki live or have whanau who live rurally and for some this was a first time experience.
Tamariki took turns patting our little visitors and some even just took joy from watching from afar and that’s okay too!
We are so lucky to have connections with our community to have these experiences and we look forward to planning many more to come as there is much to be learned by caring for animals, with endless opportunities to teach children about relationships with animals and the care and respect they deserve. It really provides children with real and meaningful connection with the environment and the world around them.
