The tamariki at BestStart Opihi have been enjoying exploring imaginative play lately. Today kaiako Brooke set up a fire truck outside and there were a lot of excited tamariki ready to play and save the day. There were fire hoses and a ladder and fiery flame pictures to find all around the playground. I could hear tamariki singing ‘’fire truck, fire truck, I want to ride on a fire truck” as they sat in the fire truck. In this experience the tamariki practiced their turn taking skills as everyone wanted to have a turn at being the driver! They were able to work together to carry the fire hoses and put the fires out. What amazing imaginations our tamariki have!
