Flossy our rabbit
Flossy is our silky grey Rex rabbit. As a part of creating a 'Home like environment' we see the importance in including a pet in a daily practice.
Flossy teaches us about 'calm bodies', 'gentle hand's and 'slow feet' as we learn how to move around her and how to keep her feeling safe.
We enjoy her company and watching her when she is out of her hutch to explore; her nick name is 'madam' as she knows what she likes and what she doesn't like! (she likes having her head scratched but does not like being picked up!) It is important to us as teachers that our environments have things that make it feel like home, animals are an important part of many of our families lives; just this week our newest child to settle in with us was very excited to meet Flossy and enthusiastically labeled her "rabbit!".
We are so proud of our youngest children as the learn how to care for animals and then transfer that knowledge to caring for each other.
