Freely exploring in our new playground
Recently we had one of our playgrounds revamped at BestStart Napier Central to align with our centre vision ‘Lead from the heart’. We have a focus on allowing tamariki to learn and grow within a learning environment that allows them to freely explore and lead their own learning.
We have created a more natural learning environment for our tamariki to engage in, as positive interactions with the natural environment are an important part of healthy child development. The tamariki are involved in picking vegetables from the sustainable garden alongside the kaiako. They learn about respecting the environment, so the plants grow and are involved in daily care taking to ensure the garden has plenty of water!
