Our curious toddlers at BestStart Bader Street got the opportunity to explore and investigate the properties of ice today. To extend on the current planning and 'Amazing Animals', I placed frozen animals, mint, droppers with baking soda and vinegar. This was also a learning opportunity for me as the first time I'd experimented dropping the baking soda/vinegar mixture onto ice too. This wonderful sensory play had so many learning opportunities such as imaginative play, language, fine motor skills, coordination, social interactions, fun and more. Sensory play is beneficial for toddlers as it also develop problem solving skills, decision making skills and self-awareness which helps them develop a better sense of space around them.
