Fun times with Kowhai Pepep and Kowhai Rooms!
Kowhai Pepe & Kowhai Wow what a busy start to 2023! Following the Children’s urges and interests, here in the Kowhai Pepe and Kowhai Room, during the summer the children have loved exploring the outdoors, engaging in the sand pit, and their all-time favorite water play. With the cooler weather now here, the children are continuing to enjoy the outdoors and the physical challenges that it provides, adding a few extra layers of clothing to keep us warm, nothing is stopping us from getting outside. From the outside playground to messy play, exploring all of our senses. The children are enjoying incorporating music and movement into our play, from nursery rhymes to action songs the music is always on. Our outdoor play is providing us with plenty of opportunities to challenge ourselves and gain confidence and control of our bodies. We have extended our previous learning and have been enjoying incorporating art and books into our play. Our favorite book is “Dear Zoo”, by Rod Campbell. We are continuing to focus on our social and emotional skills throughout the children’s interests, encouraging sharing, taking turns, and understanding our emotions and safe ways to express them.
