Fundraising for Plunket
Here at BestStart Kelvin Grove, we celebrated Plunket Week in style! We had so many fun blue-inspired activities including a blue dress-up day where our wonderful whānau stuck their gold coin contributions to our amazing giant blue bear (painted beautifully by our Tōtara preschool children). We also held a 'Blind Blue Bottle Raffle' where parents donated a bottle of something, hid it in a painted and decorated blue bag, and then bought raffle tickets to see what they could win - who knows what you might get?! Jo, our brilliant centre cook, also provided the children with blue scones! And one of our talented teachers made delicious blue-iced cupcakes to sell.
Throughout the week there were lots of blue-themed painting activities and lots of blue playdough, blue water, blue gloop experiences, and face painting. What a fun week we had to raise awareness and funds for Plunket!! Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charity and Aotearoa’s largest support service for the health and well-being of tamariki under five and their whānau. A huge thanks to all of our parents who get behind us to celebrate a worthy cause. We donated a total of $229.20 to Plunket. Another example of living our vision. “At One with Whānau, Child, and Community”.
