Within our centre we love to celebrate and help fundraise for good causes! Over the past few months there has been lots of media around Starship Hospital wanting to raise money for more beds in the ICU. This cause was also close to our heart as we had a previous teacher use their amazing facilities for her twins and one of our children has to use their amazing facility.

One of our amazing teachers Anneke went and visited many of our local community businesses who very kindly donated prizes for the raffle we were holding to help raise money for this valuable charity.

Our whole centre and wider community got behind our cause and helped us raise an amazing amount of money for Starship.  To go alongside our learning around Matariki and the celebration of Maori new year, we held a centre wide event and shared meal where all our families brought in a different dish that represented their culture. Mandy our lovely Area Manager came to reveal how much money we had raised and draw our lucky winners of our prizes.

Our tamariki had a wonderful time singing some beautiful waiata for our families and friends to welcome them to this special event. All our children enjoyed trying and seeing all the different dishes of kai that we had for dinner. They were all super yummy and we can't wait to have another centre event like this as everyone who attended had a lovely time.
