Fundraising for the community
At BestStart Wairakei Road, we build strong connections within our community. This year we participated in the “House to House Challenge” which helped to raise money for Ronald McDonald House and we also ran a series of events to raise money for Plunket.
For Plunket we baked, sold sushi, held dress up days and a Teddy Bears’ Picnic and “Splash the teacher” and raised $270.
For Ronald McDonald, the team ran, walked and biked over 210km in the month of March, and we asked for sponsorship and we raised $500. As the Plunket “Splash the teacher” was so popular Linda volunteered to be splashed this time.
I am so proud of our teachers, tamariki and whānau for getting behind these two fantastic causes.
