Fundraising Fun for Plunket
In May, we celebrated Plunket with a week’s worth of fun activities and fundraising.
One of these activities included a teddy bear picnic where our tamariki were able to bring in a teddy from home and sit outside together, enjoying a picnic.
The week also included a bike day where tamariki could decorate their bikes, and the best ones won a prize. We also had a blue dress-up day, a blue arts and crafts day and a disco!
As part of our fundraising, the staff at BestStart Girven Road pulled together an amazing basket of goodies to be raffled, which included children’s books and games, a plunket blue bear, delicious food and more. The other part of our fundraising was slime the teacher! Whanau had the opportunity to pay $1 and vote which teacher they wanted to slime.
Fiona from the Aki aki room came out with the most votes, and the tamariki decided she needed to be slimed with a rainbow. The result was super colourful, and they loved seeing their teacher get slimed!
It was such a fun week, and in the end, we managed to raise $196.30 for Plunket.
