Graduation Night
At BestStart Waihi East we have a celebration at the end of each term for our children who are moving on, or who have already earlier in the term gone to school. The children and their families are invited to come to the centre and celebrate the childrens time spent with us. We decorate the centre with photos of each child's time here and then we have a kai afterwards for the children and whānau. The children all receive their graduation cap, a small gift and their graduation certificate. They also get to take home their portfolio of their time spent at our centre. The whānau hear of the wonderful things that their children have brought to our centre and we celebrate each of the childrens individual differences. This celebration is new to our centre but we have had a lot of fun at the graduations, spending a little extra time with the children and their families before they head off on their school adventure. We think the relationships we form with our children and wider whānau are special and it is important for us to celebrate our children and the time that they have spent learning and being nurtured in our centre.
