Grandparent's Day at BestStart Albany!
As part of our local curriculum, it's really important for us to connect with our families and community. In China, they have a special day (Double Ninth Festival) to remember their ancestors and visit their grandparents to show respect and appreciation. Thus, we have invited a Chinese culture group and all our grandparents to come and join us for a special day.
We organised a special morning tea and some chinese teas to explain to all our Grandparents about this special day and everyone enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and connecting with teachers and other grandparents at the centre. It was nice to hear that they feel that we value our grandparents by organising this event.
Thank you so much, dear whanau and our lovely grandparents, for joining us in this beautiful weather, spending time with your precious grandchildren, enjoying some kai, making some crafts and local Chinese culture group's performance. It was so great to catch up with you all. You are so important in your moko's learning journey.
