Green fingers at BestStart Howick
Recently BestStart embarked on the 1000 tree initiative with an aim was to increase nature in the centres by planting trees. At BestStart Howick, we are fortunate to have trees around us, of which the centre magnolia is the favourite, as children love to climb on it. However, we lacked fruit trees and and since we are seeking to obtain a Healthy Heart Award, we decided to plant fruit trees in our outdoor space. We brought a black plum tree, one mandarin, one lime and two feijoa trees. A big THANK YOU to our children and their whanau for helping us plant these trees. Well, it does not stop here, every morning children diligently water the plants and take care of them too mainly by not driving their bikes into them! Thank you tamariki!
