What fun, adventurous and exciting times we have at BestStart St Andrews to work towards Growing great together. Our tamariki in the preschool room are loving our focus of construction which we identified as an area of interest for the children. Staff have provided many opportunities for imaginations to run wild. We have children engaging in solitary play to support the development of their individual goals as well as group experiences where children are learning to set a plan, action it and do it all while learning alongside one another.
Construction in an early learning environment can reflect different things. With these experiences the tamariki are gaining more and more of an understanding about what it is like to explore new things and use different materials to play with.
