At our centre, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when tamariki can get their hands dirty, explore the natural world, and experience the rewards of their own mahi.
Our commitment to sustainability, healthy eating, and wellbeing has become an important part of everyday life at our centre. Through our Garden to Table journey, our tamariki are learning that food doesn’t simply appear on their plates. It begins with caring for the whenua, planting, nurturing, and patiently waiting for nature to do its work.
Our sustainability journey is also about developing kaitiakitanga – caring for and protecting our environment. Through gardening, our tamariki are learning to care for living things, reduce waste, appreciate the resources around them, and understand that we all have a role to play in caring for Papatūānuku.
They are learning through doing, experiencing, and participating alongside their friends and kaiako.
Celebrating Our Healthy Heart Journey
Our commitment to healthy eating has also been recognised through our Gold Healthy Heart Award. This achievement reflects the work we do to promote healthy food choices, physical wellbeing, and positive attitudes towards kai.
Our Garden to Table experiences complement this journey beautifully. Tamariki are not only learning about healthy food – they are growing it, harvesting it, sharing it, and enjoying it.
