BestStart Remuera Road
BestStart Remuera Road provides award-winning childcare and is situated on the corner of Remuera Road and St Marks Road, convenient to Newmarket train station and motorway access. We provide quality care and early education for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers all year round.
We Nurture the Learning that Matters
At BestStart Remuera Road, we nurture the learning that matters for our tamariki, whānau, and wider community. Our focus is on our children’s lifelong learning journey that matters to them. You can see the traces of learning throughout our centre as you walk in. Our environment speaks volumes, and our children are our best ambassadors.
Through respectful relationships, we unite all cultures, fostering a sense of belonging where everyone’s heritage is valued and celebrated. We are dedicated to building trust and partnerships with parents/whānau, encouraging a collaborative atmosphere.
Our Team
Our skilled teachers from around the world create diverse and engaging activities daily to foster children’s learning based on their highest interests. Through the 16 areas of play, children are encouraged to take ownership and agency of their own learning, confidently progressing towards their holistic development as they prepare for school.
Our centre cook designs a well-balanced menu with healthy, nutritious food for the children, with every child’s health and well-being in mind. We have a seasonal menu, and our centre recently received the Rito Award from the Heart Foundation. We base our recipes on healthy, low-sugar foods, with plenty of fruits and vegetables in each of our meals.
What We Offer
- Set for School programme for 4 years old.
- Nutritious and balanced meals provided by our centre cook.
- 20 hours free for 3–5-year-olds and WINZ subsidies available* if required.
Our Spaces
Our indoor environments are created to support the learning and development of different age groups – infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. Each room is equipped with high-quality, age-appropriate resources designed to spark curious minds.
We recently expanded our outdoor area to encourage children to explore and participate in physical activities. Engaging in outdoor activities helps children develop strength, coordination, and balance while encouraging them to be active and healthy. It allows children to build social connections, learn cooperation, and develop problem-solving skills as they play and interact with others.
