Haere mai ki te waiata
Late in the morning most days here at BestStart Buchanans Rd, we open the gate between the Toddler outdoor area and the Preschool/Prep School outdoor area for a short time so the tamariki can move between the two spaces. The older children can revisit the Toddler space and the younger children can start to explore the larger space of the older children, at their own pace if they choose to. After a wee play we all come together for waiata time where we will sing some songs all together. We do the same songs for a whole week so the tamariki have plenty of opportunities to learn the songs and actions. What a great way for our siblings to spend time together and for our younger tamariki to learn from, with and alongside our older tamariki as well as becoming familiar with the teachers in the other spaces. We love spending time all together!
