We have had such an awesome week full of celebrations.
Each day we had a different theme to celebrate. We had lots of learning activities and games each day to go along with the daily theme.
On Monday, our teacher, Thembe, shared some games from Zimbabwe that the children could learn. There was a skipping game that the children had fun learning how to jump over the rope when it came close to them. What a great way to learn something special from Thembe’s culture back in Zimbabwe.
Tuesday, we had a Hungry Caterpillar extravaganza. We had some cool hungry caterpillar decorations on the roof that everyone liked to look at, especially our babies. We fed the Hungry Caterpillar balls, bowling with tins and bean bags. The older children also had a try at cutting out some Hungry Caterpillar pictures from the story and then gluing them in the order they go.
Wednesday was Disney Dress Up! We had some cool dressed-up friends. We had some dressed up as Mermaids, others Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Stitch, Mike Wazowski, Princesses and even some Spidermen. Each child was able to spend some time with our teacher Talya icing and decorating Mickey Mouse Shortbread biscuits.
Birthday Party Day was celebrated on Thursday. We started with a mat time where we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and opened some cool presents. We got some new cars with little people, bikes for our little friends, balls, a car mat, tow trucks and some moon hoppers. We had a special morning tea with some yummy fruit and a cool hungry Caterpillar cupcake.
Friday was our Soft Play Party. We had moved all the furniture so Yolandi from ‘Super Kids Soft Play’ was able to fill up the room with fun obstacles and climbing things. All the children had so much fun testing their physical capabilities and trying new things. They were all go from when Yolandi first set up right until she came to pick them up in the afternoon.
Thank you for celebrating with us! We have had so much fun getting to know all the families and children that have been at BestStart Brooklyn for the last 8 Years.
