We celebrated Thanksgiving on 26th November at BestStart Stratford with our centre whanau who couldn't be home in America with their families.  Our room looked bright and cheery with decorations and tamariki and kaiako dressed in RED WHITE and BLUE. Using StoryPark we shared our special celebration photos with those families in America on line. We even got our pumpkin pie recipe from one Nana and she shared photos with us of their pumpkins.

Morning tea was waffles, with maple syrup, blueberries and strawberries. "I've covered the RED, WHITE and BLUE theme with morning tea" said Fiona our centre cook cheekily. The tamariki enjoyed making the waffles together.

WE had yummy roast for lunch then pumpkin pie for afternoon tea. "It doesn't even taste like pumpkin," said Jaxson with a huge smile on his face. "It's yummy" everyone agreed. Our kaiako/teachers organised a turkey stuffing arts and crafts activity and made turkeys with our tamariki at the art table. We loved our Thanksgiving Day and to our families who celebrate Thanksgiving ....a HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO YOU.
