Harvesting our vegetable garden
The tamariki helped to plant some vegetables which were donated to the centre by a local kaumatua.
They have checked on them periodically in the past few months, making sure they have enough water and seeing how fast they grow. Then we harvested the crops and shared with whānau to take home.
The tamariki are building their knowledge around gardening and growing food. They are learning about sustainability and caring for the environment.
