Here we come!
At BestStart Mangorei Rd we went on the first of our weekly excursions to Puke Ariki Museum and the Library for the year. Every Tuesday we take a small group of children to explore our community. We had lots of fun exploring the current mechanical circus exhibit at the Museum, there were lots of interactive displays for the tamariki to play with.
To follow on from our current projects, Pouakai Space - New Zealand Birds and Taranaki Space - New Zealand landmark we then explored the rest of the Museum searching out both birds and New Zealand themed displays. Over the bridge we walked to the library where we searched out books to go with our group projects, which we then brought back to investigate at the centre.
After checking out our books we sat and had a snack before catching the bus back to the centre. Ngaa tamariki each shared stories about places they go and where they live as we watched the world go by from the bus window.
