Today our centre was filled with colour, laughter, and joy as we celebrated Holi – the Festival of Colours!

Holi is a beautiful celebration that comes from India and is enjoyed by people all around the world.

It celebrates the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and is a time for connection, happiness, and community.

One of the most special parts of Holi is sharing colour with one another as a symbol of love, friendship, and new beginnings. Our tamariki had so much fun exploring the vibrant colours today. With big smiles and lots of excitement, they tossed colourful powder, watched the colours burst into the air, and enjoyed seeing themselves and their friends become brighter and brighter!

It was a wonderful sensory experience full of movement, laughter, and discovery. Celebrations like this are a special way for us to honour the many cultures that make up our centre community. Through experiences like Holi, children learn about the world around them, develop respect for different traditions, and build a sense of belonging.

It was truly a joyful celebration filled with colour, connection, and fun. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special for our tamariki. Happy Holi!
