On our first day of celebrating this week we had a water day. The rain changed our plan for the day but we still had lots of fun. Water Day turned into Ice and Rain Day.

In the morning the children enjoyed watching rain from the deck and trying to catch it with yoghurt pottles. In the afternoon we explored balloons full of ice.

The tamariki first needed to get the ice out of the balloons. They found that some were red and some were clear in colour. Next they took turns using the eye droppers to see if they could change the colour of the ice with coloured water. They tested different ways to melt the ice and some managed to make a hole through the middle.

It was great to see lots of smiles, turn taking, conversations and experimenting happening today.
