Ice explorers
Our tamariki at BestStart Glasgow Street have been exploring science concepts recently. We have felt a few cold mornings this winter and we have been pretty excited to experience ice in our playground! Exploring ice allows children to experience that are in wonder of Science. Whilst winter approached very fast our children have still been able to enjoy being outside in all sorts of weather, with the understanding that we still need to keep our bodies warm while exploring.
Children: "It looks like glass"
Teacher: "What if we stand on the ice?" "what can you hear?"
Children: "So slippery" "It's cracking" "It's melting!"
