Identity Day Celebration
“E waka eke noa – Were all in this together” is a core value of Doncaster Drive Kindy and to celebrate our centre whanau and all the cultures that are found within that whanau we held an Identity Day Celebration.
Identity cards were created for everyone portraying their cultural backgrounds and whanau and children were encouraged to come in traditional dress and bring a cultural dish for our shared kai.
Music, singing, and dancing was on the agenda and this was followed by an awesome shared kai. Identity day gave everyone the opportunity to share their culture, experience other cultures and for our centre whanau to come together as a group to mix, mingle and spend time with each other and their children.
