Sensory play experiences are so important to us here at BestStart Parton Road, the teachers enjoy it just as much as the children. As teachers we understand the importance of sensory play, and the benefits to children’s development. But most importantly its so much fun for the children, and often experiences that parents (feedback from our whanau) at home just don’t have time to do or want to do due to the mess, and that’s ok because that’s what we are here for and love to do.

Sensory play comes in so many different forms, for us over the month its looked like, finger painting to body painting, picking and smelling our veggies (from our very on whanau garden) to discovering the slippery slimy slugs hiding in our garden. It can be baking our own cupcakes that smell and taste amazing, to sticking little fingers into bowls of slim and ready to erupt volcano's in the sandpit. When it comes to sensory experiences, we have it all and  we are always trying to discover new and exciting experiences to explore.
