Inglewood Good Sorts
At BestStart Inglewood we have started the Inglewood Good Sorts community award, to help our children feel connected to our wider community, to understand our history, our people and their place within it.
Our centre vision is about ‘Nurturing our Neighbourhood’. Inglewood Good Sorts brings this to life – connecting children to the richness of our local neighbourhood and all our people have to offer.
Inglewood Good Sorts is our centre’s way of recognising and celebrating people in the community who live our values and enrich our lives. We think there is an opportunity to celebrate these local people and organisations, giving them the public recognition that shows we as a community value everything they do to make Inglewood a great place.
Every month we ask the people of Inglewood to nominate someone who is living our values - Kindness; Courage and Curiosity; Creativity; Collaboration; Success. Our children discuss the nominations and choose a winner. The winner is invited into our centre to share their knowledge with our children and will receive a special gift in recognition of their greatness.
We have nomination forms out in the community and are promoting it on the local Facebook pages. People can also phone or email us their nominations or come into the centre and complete a form!
