Investigating a praying mantis
During this spontaneous experience the children were investigating a praying mantis that we caught off the window. This was a great opportunity for the children to learn and gain knowledge of the living world along with developing a sense of responsibility how to care for it. The children were connecting and linking the body parts of the praying mantis to their own bodies. Supporting their curiosity and ability to explore and create working theories of the natural world.
