When Jackie the tiny puppy came to preschool today, the first people she met were our Mako Class!  The Mako children were about to play a game, but there was Jackie in her playpen making a lot of noise – she wanted to meet the children!  So Katie opened the playpen and tiny Jackie hopped out and rushed over to walk up to the children and sniff them to say hello.  Jackie was so brave, even though she is so tiny we had to be very careful with her.  When some parents arrived, we had to tell them to watch where they were stepping to keep Jackie safe.

Later in the day, the Wheke children came out of their classroom to meet Jackie, and she even licked some of their fingers!  Then Jackie went to meet the Pepe children.  Some of our young Pepe learners even got to hold Jackie and practise using their gentle hands.  Everyone was very kind and gentle and Jackie had a lovely time.

Katie told us that when she took Jackie home after preschool, she was very tired and had a very big sleep.  We hope Jackie will come and visit us again so we can see how she changes and grows over time.

Come back Jackie!
