BestStart Avondale holiday programme offered lots of fun activities for all ages. We celebrated Wacky Wednesday where we saw children’s creativity supported by parents. Children came with colourful hair, decorated with braids and colourful hair ties.

The holidays were full of fun, laughter and kotahitanga- togetherness. Children participated in baking, cultural dress-up, planting, creating stars and dancing to Māori waitata (music) to acknowledge and embrace Matariki- Maori New Year.  We received great support from our wonderful parents who actively participated in the centre programme. Baking Maori bread and shared kai brought our parents/whanau together to meet with each other and spend some time at the centre.
