Themed celebrations such as Disco Day, Crazy Hair Day, Teddy Bear’s Picnic and so forth provide opportunities for children to develop a sense of belonging and enhance group solidarity.
Such celebrations create an environment where children feel safe to express their individuality as well as collaborate and share ideas. While having fun sharing their crazy hair, disco outfit or their favorite teddy, children are building a sense of community which helps foster and develop competence in social and emotional skills.
