Kaytlyn's Journey
Kaytlyn started her journey with us in February this year and attends only two days a week. She has a very close relationship with her Mum and found it hard to say goodbye to her when she was dropped off in the morning. She needed a teacher close by for her to feel supported and we would often share new resources with her for her to explore and become comfortable with us and the room. We noticed that she loved singing and things that make sounds, so we used these as a tool to help her when she felt unsettled. She was making some real progress but then Covid hit and changed everything. We continued to support her while she was at home through the BestStart@home programme and we made a video of our room to help her to remember us. When she came back, we started the settling in process again and over the last few weeks she has made some amazing progress and loves to crawl around and explore. She now is happy to say goodbye to her Mum and loves to be here with all her peers. What an amazing journey we have been on and are excited to see what Kaytlyn does next!
