At BestStart Vivian Street tamariki are interested in learning about healthy foods and are excited to be involved in our garden and to gain knowledge about healthy eating.Tamariki have taken on responsibility to tend to our gardens by watering the seeds through to weeding the gardens. This has shown us that tamariki at BestStart Vivian are ready to be kaitiaki (guardians of the land), and are aware of how our kai comes to the table.

We have been working towards our Healthy heart award, and growing, offering healthy kai, having regular korero, and active movement and physical activities have been some of the ways we have been incorporating, early healthy eating habits. Our families enjoy being part of this journey, and this is reflected in the beautifully presented healthy lunchboxes we see at our kai table.
