What with Covid19 and Auckland water restrictions our tamariki are certainly learning about the world around them and how such events have a direct impact on them and their environment. With level 3 happening again, our tamariki adapted to the re-instated restrictions by using gloves and facemasks to prevent germs from spreading while they prepared their sandwiches for their High Tea. With Covid19 now being a part of life, they can intelligently discuss and practice how to keep themselves safe through good hygiene and distancing.

Our tamariki are also learning about what Auckland's water restrictions mean for them and how we need to be sustainable in our use of our water to make sure we have enough. They have learned that big blocks of ice will cool many of us down if we share and make room for our friends. The tamariki are also learning that less amounts of water doesn't mean less fun as they have become conservative in their play with water, understanding learning environments are set up for exploration and not for splashing and wasting water.
