What a fantastic evening we had at BestStart Willowpark celebrating Cook Island Language Week.

The Willowpark whanau gathered together to share some delicious chop suey and mayonnaise while listening to live music.

The parents and tamariki attended a workshop where they learnt to make their own ei katu (flower headpiece) to take home.

We had some lovely feedback from our families,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for putting together such an amazing experience for us to be a part of tonight. I honestly feel so grateful to you all, because without you we wouldn't get to experience this beautiful culture. Dee especially, thank you for sharing your whanau and culture with us tonight, I could have sat and listened to the beautiful singing all night. Guys your passion to education and giving these kids such amazing experiences is awesome, thank you for the late nights, time away from your own families and organisation that goes into this. I was so super proud of my son tonight and you guys play a major role in the kid he is and the confidence, respect and involvement he showed tonight made me beam with pride and I know I have you all to thank for helping him achieve this. Please pass on my gratitude to all those beautiful people who gave up their time to come and help us celebrate the beautiful culture of the Cook Islands”.
