Today the children in the harakeke room got to explore and celebrate the Cook Island culture and paint the Cook Islands special flower, the frangipani. This activity is to embrace Te epetoma o te reo māori kūki āirani which translates to Cook Island language week. The children used pink and yellow paint to bring the flowers to life. During the activity the children loved to feel the texture of the paint and even did some hand painting which is great for sensory play.
