With summer in full force and our meadow full of flowers our buzzy friends have been making this their new home. With more bees than we have ever had comes lots of curious tamariki ready to bombard us with questions- so who better to bring in than someone who calls themselves the Bee Lady.

We never want to restrict the learning for our tamariki between the four walls of this home so we saw the opportunity to bring someone in who knows all about bees to share their knowledge with tamariki who were eager to learn all about those who were flying from flower to flower in our meadow.

The Bee Lady had a presentation for the tamariki talking about the different kinds of bees, what the job of the bees were, what are they doing in our garden and most importantly how does the honey from their toast get there! Because of this new found information we learnt that we needn't be scared of bees and that if one comes close to stand still and just let them..... bee!

Our tamariki were then lucky enough to be able to see hundreds of bees in the hive and get searching to find the queen bee. From here they then got plenty of time to watch the bees and roll up beeswax candles to bring home.

By being central we are so lucky we can take advantage of the community we have surrounding us, allowing us to leave no questions unanswered by from our tamariki.
