This month at BestStart Oamaru Kindy the tamariki have had an interest in babies and role-playing with the baby dolls. This has stemmed from the fact that we have a lot of new babies within our centre community. The kaiako (teachers) rearranged our family corner and replaced the kitchen-based furniture with beds and blankets. The tamariki (children) have enjoyed using the new set up to look after their babies and role-playing families as they take turns to be the baby or the parent!
