“Playball is unique and specialised in that, although we are using “sports skills” as our vehicle, playballs goal is to help children develop all of their skills on their journey through life”.

Yesterday we were fortunate enough to have Coach Liam and Coach Naomi from Playball, visit us at Montessori. The main focuses of this experience for children were to refine their listening skills, participation in group experiences, fine motor and gross motor skills and also giving new experiences a go.

There was several games for the tamariki to participate in, ranging from throwing and catching, confidence courses and purposeful games with hula hoops.

All the tamariki gave it a go and the coaches were very impressed with their listening and concentration skills. The tamariki seemed to love this new experience and are very excited about Playball returning next week! We as educators are also very excited to learn some new skills that we can continue on with the tamariki.
