Learning about the Treaty of Waitangi
This past week the children have been busy learning about the Treaty of Waitangi.
The children reenacted their own signing of our preschool treaty. We created boats using our tables, and also created a big waka too! The children played important roles and began to understand how the treaty took place. They all enjoyed being a part of it.
They all signed the treaty and hugged and clapped in celebration. From there the children explored our poi, they all enjoyed spinning the poi around and trying out different techniques too. It has been a fun filled week of learning an important part of New Zealand's history, all while having fun!
