At BestStart Palm Springs we have worked really hard to achieve our Resource Wise Schools Stage Four Award.

This is a Tauranga City Council Initiative to support Early Childhood Centres and Schools with teaching children about waste and sustainability. Part of the ongoing support of this is the Great Waste Races they run. Sue, from the Tauranga City Council, comes in with all the resources to set up a fun race for the children where they sort out different types of waste to make sure it goes in the right place. For example; recycling, food waste, clean water and soapy water.

The children always enjoy the Great Waste Race and learn so much about waste and sustainability in the process.

This is very important to us here at BestStart Palm Springs where we value our local community and beautiful beach backyard that we visit every Monday. Thankfully on our walks to the beach we very rarely find any rubbish to pick up.
