As the country has gone into lockdown this month, everything has changed for our little ones. We don't want the fact that we are here for our whanau and our tamariki to change. Remote learning is happening for our early childhood centre. We have planned a programme for our children to be involved in from home and each day are posting photos, stories, activities, videos and more that relate to our programme to keep our faces familiar for our children.

We are also doing weekly catch ups via video calls for our children so that they can see a friendly face and still know who we are and that we still care for them. We can also be reached by parents if they need any support through this time that the unknown can be quite scary. Storypark is a great tool that is keeping us in touch with our whanau and today we started with our first day of the programme, PJ day. Parents have shared back photos and comments of what they are doing too. This is also supports our tamariki sense of belonging.

We have enthusiastically entered into the new world of remote teaching. Each week day the very creative and caring kaiako/teachers have been posting photos and videos on our StoryPark platform to help keep our faces familiar and maintain a sense of connection, belonging and routine with our tamariki/children and their whanau/families. Have a look at some of the fun ideas we have put together from out first two weeks in lockdown.
