At BestStart Glenfield we believe in nurturing the nature of the child and watching them grow, and the best way to do this is by learning through play.

Learning Can Be Messy!

My clothes got dirty today but it helps to show what I have been learning!

Sometimes, I accidentally get paint on me when I work. Painting helps me to grow my creativity!

Sometimes my clothes come home wet. I learn a lot of science and maths concepts when I play in the water trough.

These pen marks were made when I was drawing. Drawing helps me develop my pincer grip and writing skills.

This splodge is part of my lunch. I am trying really hard to self-feed and use my spoon when I eat.

Playing outside is important. I run, jump, and/or ride the bikes. Sometimes I get stains on my clothes but this helps me grow my gross motor skills.

Sometimes it seems like I’m bringing the whole sandpit home. I learn how to work together with others by playing in the sandpit.

Because learning can be messy, we do recommend a good selection of day-care clothes so tamariki are free to explore, experiment, and express themselves through all the different experiences we have to offer each day.
