Kia Ora friends and whanau, this month the tamariki and their whanau have been busy adjusting to life in their lock down bubbles. Here at BestStart Rugby we have been engaging with the tamariki via on line learning. We're available on Storypark Monday to Friday to have real time interactions with our tamariki and their whanau.  We've been busy offering them experiences which they can join in on from the comfort of their own home.

There have been some clear favourites such as a music and movement session where the children developed their co-ordination, listening skills and developed body confidence while singing along to some of their favourite tunes.

Practicing their self help skills was another great one and what better way of learning to look after ourselves and those around us than being isolated with our whanau. We practiced brushing our teeth, putting on jackets, brushing our hair and organising our day care bag. This teaches everyone about responsibility, well being caring for ourselves and developing those important self help skills.

The tamariki have enjoyed listening to some on line stories. These stories are some of the tamariki favourites here at daycare.  The scariest thing in the garden,  Wonky Donkey  and a new one that they all seemed to love was Dinky Donkey.

Our whanau also loved making lemonade scones. This task helped them learn about following instructions, developing working theories, and learning about basic maths concepts.
