The month of June has been a busy month in our Infant and toddler room at BestStart Inglewood as we have been busy exploring loose parts and getting out side as much as we can.

Our tamariki here at BestStart Inglewood absolutely love exploring loose parts especially the reels. The reels are a loose part resource, that children can move, manipulate, control, and change while they play. Children can carry, combine, redesign, line up, take apart, and put loose parts back together in almost endless ways.

T he reels that were brought out on this particular day are great as this one resource provides a range of different learning stages for each child. Some children used the reels to thread, some stacked them high and even our young children had a try to see if they could fit in their mouths.

As you can see so much concentration, exploration and different learning opportunities displayed.

With the colder weather upon us this month it has been harder to get out side  as most days we start out so chilly  with snow on the maunga. But on lucky days the the sun begans to shine and we are able to get outside and explore the nature. Our children absolutely loving the leaf's that have fallen of our big tree. They all  enjoy finding their own way to explore them. Some children love nothing more then throwing them high and watching them fall, other children would rather  crawl through them and some children just enjoying playing in the leaf's. It is wonderful to see the all tamariki experiencing the wonders of nature.
