Learning new skills
The past few weeks that children in the Paua room have enjoyed exploring activities on our mat area.
Some of the children love extending their literacy skills with challenging moveable alphabet activities to support learning to spell and then read.
Others have been working on identifying individual letters and their phonetic sounds. Some have also been working on literacy puzzles that support identifying pictures with the corresponding word underneath.
We recently celebrated Halloween at the centre, we had a range of activities to learn about Halloween and what things are associated with it. Above the child works on a three-part card set. This helps to identify a picture, then below that the word corresponding to that picture too.
It has been a busy few weeks at Montessori St Albans, and now we are starting to prepare for Christmas!
