This month our tamariki were busy exploring the natural world. With our Kaiako's support, they were mainly focused on how the insects work as part of the ecosystem.

For example, this morning, we found a whole spider web at the corner of our sandpit. We used black paper to capture it so our tamariki could see it properly. They touched it, explored it and asked a lot of questions. Taking this opportunity, we also explained how the spider makes the web and how it catches bugs.

In this way, we can satisfy our tamariki's curiosity and encourage them to develop their sense of natural science.
