Learning through Sand
The sandpit is very popular with our tamariki at the moment. Sand play is such a versatile learning tool for children.
Through sand play, children learn about size, volume and capacity, they use trial and error and develop problem solving skills and further develop social skills.
Sand play is a great social experience where children can learn to communicate with others, use their language skills and further develop social skills.
Within our Nursery the children are enjoying using different equipment within the sandpit and working alongside and with others, and they are enjoying the different textures and expressing their creativity.
