Our mud kitchen has come to life!
sImagine a space where a handful of mud becomes a delicious chocolate cake, leaves become the secret ingredient in a special recipe, and sticks transform into magical cooking utensils.
We recently upgraded our mud kitchen in our nursery room, creating a rich and inviting space where tamariki can explore, imagine, create, experiment, and discover through hands-on play. With fresh resources and natural materials, the possibilities are endless!
Tamariki can mix, pour, scoop, dig, stir, build, and create their own wonderful recipes. Along the way, they are developing problem-solving skills, testing their ideas, making decisions, and discovering that learning can be messy, joyful, and full of surprises! What makes our mud kitchen even more special is the way it brings tamariki together.
As they cook and create alongside their peers, they share ideas, negotiate roles, communicate their thinking, and support one another. A simple invitation to “cook” can lead to rich conversations, friendships, laughter, and teamwork. Our mud kitchen is more than just a space for play—it is a place where creativity comes alive, friendships grow, and tamariki build confidence as capable learners.
Every muddy hand, messy bowl, and creative recipe tells a story of learning. Here, there are no right or wrong recipes—just endless possibilities waiting to be discovered!
