Learning is always fun for Beststart Kenderdine whanau regardless of the circumstances. Despite the lockdown, we stayed connected with our children and families which we named as ‘Let’s get connected’ program. Children developed their imagination and literacy with our storytelling session online. Children enjoyed participating in quiz with teacher Kajal and Kavita that worked on enhancing their knowledge and understanding in relevance to the subject.

They accepted the physical exercise challenge with teacher Amrita which helped them perform a sequence of movements developing resilience, courage, creativity and problem solving. Moreover, parents’ contribution made this learning successful as they continued to share their home stories with us.

Cultural diversity could be seen in the sharing of different cultural foods’ recipes online by our teachers and parents. It shows how well we all have respectfully acknowledged and have been responsive to the identities and cultures of children, whanau and teachers. We also celebrated Easter with our BS Kenderdine children, families and whanau from our bubbles.  It won’t be wrong to stay that this physical distance has brought us all together in real means as we stayed connected.
